The Assessment of a Behavioral Intervention Team: CORE-Q10

Recognizing the value of identifying risk early and intervening to prevent harm to members of the campus community, most colleges and universities in the United States today have teams in place tasked with doing just that. But simply forming a Behavioral Intervention Team is not enough. To be effective, teams must be willing to look within themselves to determine whether their membership structure makes sense, and that their mission and purpose statements truly capture their scope and method of operation so that members of their campus communities know when to refer concerning behavior to them. And they must be willing to engage in strategic introspection to learn where improvement is needed and demonstrate the effectiveness of their efforts. This book identifies 10 core evaluation areas for BITs, gleaned from years of consulting with such teams at hundreds of institutions across the country, providing campus teams a roadmap for self-improvement and a way to demonstrate their value to better advocate for needed resources.
