Behavioral Intervention Teams (BITs) and Title IX staff serve distinct functions, yet their work intersects when reported behaviors pose a risk to self or others. This session examines how BIT/CARE and Title IX practitioners can work in partnership to manage risk and provide supportive interventions for overlapping cases.Presenters will offer practical guidance on whether the Title IX Coordinator should serve on the BIT/CARE team and what communication is permissible between the two groups. Attendees will also learn how to collaborate when an individual expresses thoughts of harming themselves or others and how to implement the violence risk assessment protocol for student emergency removal.
