At Montana State University, our Case Managers operate across various departments, collaborating to balance the needs of individual students, the expectations of our community, and the mission of our Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT).
Our decentralized Case Management Team provides consistent and equitable support to students facing distress or in need of additional resources, while prioritizing community safety. We adopt a strengths-based approach, empowering students by emphasizing their capacities and autonomy and linking them with campus resources and services.
Effective communication across offices is essential to fostering student success. Teams from Campus Civil Rights, Student Housing, the Dean of Students’ Office, and our CARE and BIT strive to provide our students with the most up-to-date resources and referrals without redundancy. Though each office has its own approach, they all share a commitment to delivering student-centered outreach and support. Our case management practices are designed to honor this critical stage of student development, emphasizing independence and fostering respect.
Join us for an interactive session where we will share the principles and best practices that shape our work. This session will also provide ample opportunities for participation and discussion, allowing participants to exchange ideas and insights.
