Information Session: Introducing NABITA Credentialing to Elevate Standards for Behavioral Intervention Professionals
December 12, 2025|3:00pm - 4:00pm ET
Presenters: Makenzie Schiemann & Tim Cason
As the landscape of behavioral intervention and threat assessment becomes increasingly complex, professionals deserve recognition of their advanced skills, nuanced judgment, and applied expertise in critical roles. In this webinar, we will introduce NABITA Credentials, which recognize a practitioner’s expertise in role-specific decision-making, complex scenario handling, and ethical consistency.
Unlike traditional certifications that validate what someone knows, credentialing evaluates what someone can do in real-world contexts, in alignment with professional standards.
During this session, attendees will:
- Understand how credentialing differs from certification and why combining them strengthens professional development.
- Learn about NABITA’s new pre- and post-course tests.
- Explore NABITA’s role-based credentials, including BIT Chair, BIT Team Member, Case Manager, and Violence Risk Assessor.
- Hear leadership insights on why credentialing is a “game-changer” for the field.
- Review maintenance expectations and strategies for institutional adoption.
By the end of the session, attendees will know how to pursue NABITA credentialing and how it can strengthen professional credibility.
